Privacy policy

The short version: Onbit is a plain static website. You don't make an account, we don't ask for your name or email to read anything, and we don't run advertising or tracking cookies. Here are the details.

What we collect

Onbit itself sets no tracking cookies and asks for no personal information to browse. We don't run third-party advertising or analytics that profile you across the web. If we ever add basic, privacy-respecting visitor counting, we'll update this page first and keep it cookieless and anonymised.

What your browser sends to others

• Hosting logs. Like any website, our host may record standard server logs (your IP address, browser type, the page requested, a timestamp) to keep the site running and secure. These are kept briefly and not used to identify you.
• Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts and Fontshare. Your browser contacts those services to fetch the fonts, which means they receive your IP address. See their own privacy policies.
• Live prices. The homepage and some calculators fetch current crypto prices from a public exchange market-data endpoint. Your browser contacts that endpoint directly to get the numbers; we send no personal data with the request.
• Outbound links. When you click a link to an exchange or another site, you leave Onbit and that site's own privacy policy applies. Referral links may pass a referral code so the discount and our commission are credited — they don't carry your identity.

Calculators stay in your browser

Everything you type into our calculators (trade sizes, amounts, and so on) is processed in your browser and is never sent to us or stored. Close the tab and it's gone.

Your rights

Because we don't hold personal data about you, there's little for us to export or delete. If you've emailed us and want that correspondence removed, just ask. Under the GDPR and similar laws you have rights to access, correct, and erase personal data a company holds about you, and to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

Onbit is not intended for anyone under 18. Crypto trading has age and identity requirements set by the exchanges and the law where you live.
